Turkey Alzheimer's Association Gives Patient Care Course to Patient Relatives
Turkey Alzheimer's Association
was established in 1997 by healthcare professionals, patient relatives, and patients interested in Alzheimer's disease. The association's aim is to raise societal awareness of this disease, inform patient relatives about patient care, and provide support to patient relatives. The association, established to create awareness about Alzheimer's, a disease with no definitive cure that causes significant problems for patient relatives and patients in its advanced stages, now provides patient care courses to patient relatives and aims to provide comfort to patients in these final stages.
Patient Care Course
In the patient care course given by the Turkey Alzheimer's Association, patient relatives are made aware of the disease, and it is explained that the patient's behaviors are unintentional. Patient relatives are told that this is a disease, that the disease has various stages, each with different challenges, and care recommendations that will make life easier are offered. Within the scope of patient care education, the patient's risky behaviors and the precautions to be taken in response to these behaviors are explained. Through this course, given to help the patient and the patient relative overcome this difficult period with minimal harm, the association supports patient relatives.
