How Blood Sugar Affects Memory

It Leaves More Harmful Effects Than Too Much Protein

According to research, it has been revealed that an increase in blood sugar, or glucose levels, negatively affects memory by impacting the hippocampus region of the brain, which is responsible for memory formation. It has been observed that even a moderate rise in blood sugar levels can cause effects to appear in a short period. It was found that in the region related to memory, brain blood volume or flow decreases when blood sugar rises. This is a particularly important issue for older individuals to pay attention to, as glucose regulation deteriorates with age.

When the protein balance in the body is not regulated, bones are at risk, and those who exercise regularly must also regulate their eating habits. This is because the body's needs change as physical activity increases. If the intake of certain nutrients is not controlled, unwanted consequences occur, and protein is one of these.
