Tenant's Responsibilities Towards the Landlord
Who is a Tenant
A tenant is an individual or legal entity who obtains the right to use a property in exchange for a specific fee. The rented property can be a house, farm, summer house, as well as places like shops or factories. In other words, the tenant is the person who uses the rented property. The lease agreement made between the tenant and the landlord is called a contract. The rights and responsibilities of the tenant and the lessor, as well as the duration of the contract, must be clearly stated on the contract.
Tenant's Responsibilities
The tenant must use the property they have rented with care. The tenant is obliged to cover damages that arise during the use of the property they have rented. Repair costs arising from normal use are covered by the tenant. The landlord must specify these conditions in the contract when renting out their property. The tenant is responsible for paying electricity, water, and natural gas expenses for the property they use. The tenant is obliged to pay for the doorman and cleaning expenses. However, major expenses such as the installation of an elevator system, exterior insulation, or painting the exterior facade are the responsibility of the landlord.
