What is TEOG

TEOG stands for Transition from Primary Education to Secondary Education Exam. This exam, which covers primary school-aged children, is applied to students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. The exam is based on students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades of primary school taking exams in 6 core subjects, one for each semester. The scores calculated through a central system determine which high school the children will be placed in. One of the exams in the core subjects (Turkish, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Studies, English, Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge) will be centralized. Students will take these exams at their own schools. The 1st and 2nd semester exams are held towards the end of each semester. The TEOG score is calculated by evaluating the student's exam score together with their end-of-year success score.

How is TEOG Administered?

TEOG is a centralized exam based on a multiple-choice test system. The questions have 4 options, with only one correct answer. The questions are prepared considering the curriculum of that year. Unlike other exams, in this exam, a wrong answer does not cancel out a correct answer. The exam is held at the student's school, with proctoring teachers coming from other schools. For those who cannot take the exam due to a valid excuse, a make-up exam is conducted. It is an exam with a possibility for recourse. A student who does not achieve the desired success in the first exam can work harder in the second semester to obtain the desired score.
